CAR Designs was established in 2000 by Charlotte Rice after graduating from Kent Institute of Art and Design. Charlotte is the designer and maker and with the administrative help of her mother Annie CAR Designs was formed to offer bespoke items of silverware and jewellery.
The workshop is situated in Maidstone, Kent and with this as the hub CAR Designs exhibits locally but travels quite extensively to shows in the South East. Please refer to the Events Page for a list of shows/events that CAR Designs will be attending in 2010.
CAR Designs makes many items of jewellery both for everyday wear and unique pieces for that special occasion. If you cannot find that particular piece or have a design in mind you can commission Charlotte to make it. We also have a range of “big jewellery for big girls”, jewellery designed for the larger lady or the lady with bold ideas.
CAR Designs offers a bespoke wedding jewellery service and will make your wedding rings to your specific requirements. We offer a range of unique jewellery for your entire wedding party, both ladies and gentlemen.
CAR Designs offers a range of silverware that includes bookmarks, spoons, ladles, ornaments and small dishes and have recently added more quirky items such as a noughts and crosses game. In the coming year new items will appear including a range of tableware based on arrows, more spoons and larger bowls. We will undertake commissions for silverware items such as commemorative pieces, retirement gifts, christening, wedding or anniversary presents or that special piece just for you.
CAR Designs also designs and makes church plates such as chalices, patens and altar bells and offers a repair and alteration service for these items.
